  10 March 2024

Ethiopia is intensifying its efforts to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through a comprehensive approach involving government agencies, healthcare professionals, and international partners. The Ethiopia Public Health Institute (EPHI) and the Ministry of Health are working with international partners, including the World Health Organization (WHO), to strengthen laboratory-based surveillance systems. The country’s annual review meeting in February 2024 highlighted the importance of collaboration in strengthening AMR surveillance and response capabilities.
